Sudden death of one of the musicians ABBA – The Reason (Argentina)


The Swedish musician and producer Rutger Gunnarsson, bearish on all disks in the successful quartet ABBA, died suddenly at age 69 at his home in Stockholm.

In a brief statement, Universal Music said the death occurred so suddenly although the cause of death was not specified.

Gunnarsson began his musical career in the band Hootenanny Singers, where already coincided with Björn Ulvaeus, who later formed ABBA Benny Andersson, Frida Lyngstad and Agnetha Föltskog.

Gunnarsson’s bass sounds on all disks of the most popular Swedish band ever, with whom he also played during his tours in the decade in which it was active (1972-1982).

During his long career worked closely with Ulvaeus and Andersson in other projects as well as with other Swedish musicians, and served as arranger for the likes of Celine Dion and Elton John.

He also produced to Swedish and foreign artists and participated in several musicals such as “Chess”, “Rhapsody in Rock” and “Mamma Mia!”.
