Farewell to a legend of blues: at age 89, he died BB King – Clarín.com

At the age of 89 and following a picture of health impaired by chronic illness, died last night in Las Vegas blues legend BB King, as confirmed by his lawyer.

The sad news was released by his attorney Brent Bryson , who announced that the artist, known as “king of the blues” died “calmly in his sleep” 1:40 (Argentina time) at his home in Las Vegas.

The musician drew several health problems stemming from the type 2 diabetes who suffered for more than 20 years and in recent months had been hospitalized several times for pictures of dehydration as a result of the disease.

In October last year, complications had forced him to suspend a series of eight concerts, when he was on tour .

Through its website, BB King told the May 1 was at home accompanied by doctors and that he appreciated the support and wishes of speedy recovery after suffering a heart attack. “I’m with home healthcare, in my home in Las Vegas. Thank you all for your wishes for a speedy recovery and your prayers,” he wrote.

With more than 50 albums released, King will be remembered as one of the legends of American blues. Some of his greatest hits are “Three O’Clock Blues”, “The Thrill is Gone” and “When Love Comes to Town”.

In September was turning 90.
