The lead vocalist of the popular British soul band Hot Chocolate, died at age 71, according to his representative.
Brown died at his home in the Bahamas after fight liver cancer, said Phil Dale.
Hot Chocolate achieved success in more than 50 countries worldwide, including “You Sexy Thing” co-written by Brown -Song “It Started With A Kiss” and “Every 1′s a winner”.
In 2003, Brown became a member of the Order of the British Empire, a recognition awarded by the British Queen to outstanding personalities. And he received the Ivor Novello Award for his contribution to British music in 2004.
“You Sexy Thing” hit most famous Hot Chocolate occupied the first places during the 70s and 80s, and became a new hit in 1997 for the film “The Full Monty.
Dale said in his statement that Brown was killed along with his wife Ginette and her daughters Colette and Leonie.
” Errol was a lover of life and obviously music “said Dale.” I was never at home, hotel or car without music be heard. “
” He was a gentleman and a personal friend who will be missed sadly by those who knew him, “he said.
Brown was born in Jamaica but moved to Britain with his mother when he was 12.
His musical career began in 1969, when he and some friends sent her own reggae version of “Give Peace a Chance” to its author John Lennon.
“We all laughed at that,” Brown told BBC 2009.
“Surprisingly, a week later I received a call in which they said that John Lennon wanted to sign the band to the label Apple, and that’s how we started.”

Hot Chocolate launched its first single” Love is Life “in 1970, reaching the top of the charts.
The group was the only Briton to have a success every year for 15 years, between 1970 and 1984.
