Film ‘Juliet’ gets three nominations to the Awards European Film Academy – TVN Panama

As is traditional, the nominations were announced this Saturday at the European Film Festival of Seville, which is held in the andalusian capital of seville (south).

“Juliet” will be the Spanish film that more nominations have in these awards, having been nominated as best european film of 2016, Almodóvar as best director and actors Emma Suárez and Adriana Ugarte, an “ex-aequo” as best actresses.

In the case of the award for best director, Almodóvar will have to compete with germany’s Maren Ade by “Toni Erdmann”, the british Kean Loach by “I, Daniel Blake”, the Romanian Cristian Mungiu for “Graduation”, and the Dutch Paul Verhoeven for “Elle”.

The nomination “ex aequo” Emma Suarez and Adriana Ugarte, for their part, contend for the prize of best actress with the Italian Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, for his work in “Mad Joy”, the Danish Trine Dyrholm, for his performance in “The commune”, and the German Sandra Hüller, actress in “Elle”.

Also competing for this award the German Burghart Klaubner, by “Fritz Bauer”, sweden’s Rolf Lassgard, for “A man called Ove”, and the austrian, Peter Simonischek, “Toni Erdman”.

In the category of writers, five candidates competing for the award in this modality: the German Mared Ade by “Toni Erdman”, the irish Emma Donoghue for “room”, the scotsman Paul Laverty for “I, Daniel Blake”.

Also opt to this prize the Romanian Cristian Mungiu for “Graduation” and the Polish Tomasz Wasilewski for “United States of love”.

To get the title of best european film, Almodóvar will compete with the tape franco/German “Elle”, the French “I, Daniel Blake”, the irish/canadian “The room” and the German/austrian “Toni Erdmann”.

The prizes include, in addition, a recognition to the best documentary, to choose six works: “21 x New York”, by Piotr Stasik (Poland), “A family affair”, by Tom Fassaert (Netherlands/Belgium), “Fire at sea”, by Gianfranco Rosi (Italy/France), “Mr. Gaga”, by Tomer Heyman (Israel/Sweden/Germany/Holland), “S is for Stanley – 30 years at the wheel for Stanley Kubrick” by Alex Infascelli (Italy) and “The land of The enlightened”, by Pieter-Jan De Pue (Germany).
