Jarmush in the Festival the International of Cinema of Mar del Plata – Vision of the Film

After Only lovers left alive, Jim Jarmusch was dispatched in 2016 with two films. On the one hand, a fiction, Paterson, starring Adam Driver. On the other, a documentary, a tribute to the that for him (and for many) it is and will always be the best rock and roll band of all time, The Stooges: Gimme Danger. And both were projected in the Festival of Cinema of Mar del Plata.

Paterson is a place and a character in the movie of Jarmusch. It is the place where you live someone also called in as well. Adam Driver gives life to a routine bus driver who in his spare time writes poetry in his notebook a secret. He lives together with his lovely girlfriend, who is opposed to the day, armed and premeditated yours. Is restless and wants to do a thousand things at the same time, cook cupcakes, paint and decorate your entire home with your personal style, and learn to play the guitar. He rises without an alarm clock every day at the same time.

Jarmusch portrays the everyday life with the tone of a poetic with the Paterson observes all things and through whose pettiness is going to inspire day-to-day. With a lot of humor, tenderness and naturalness, Paterson is a film comprised of moments. What you decide to make your director is portraying a week in the life of, and during a large part of the story we can believe that the week is equal to all the weeks. And while a big part of what is, near the end something happens that mobilizes truth to his protagonist but then it also teaches that sometimes we do not need more to find our moments to do what we like, and that is something that is easy to get. He wants to write poetry, the rest doesn’t matter.

Paterson is a film that is beautiful and subtle on the importance of the appreciation for the smallest things.

Gimme danger, Jarmusch presents itself immediately to The Stooges as the best rock and roll band of all time. And we don’t have to convince you of that throughout his documentary, but instead of approaching the band from opinions to more formal and technical, it does so from the heart of it.

the main contribution of the testimonies to the incomparable Iggy Pop, Gimme danger shows the history of The Stooges from their early beginnings up to what was she, showing them with the greatest authenticity possible. In the long run so is Iggy Pop, authentic. Is someone who became the icon that it is without intending it, simply letting himself be carried away by what I wanted to do. If I saw a dog collar and he believed that he could get well, put it there, without thinking that after you generate other comments.

in Addition to the testimonies of co-workers, and the images of archives of the band, Jarmusch is allowed to play at the time of ficcionalizar some of the testimonials, and does so generally through images of film which to the naked eye nothing have to do with what is being told. This generates something new and fun. Another a lesser amount of testimonies are recreated through animation, also causing several moments of humor.

First of all, Gimme danger is a love letter to the band’s favorite Jarmusch. It is a must for any fan.
