Awarded National Prize of Narrative Cristina Fernández Cubas – The Day online

Madrid. The writer and Spanish journalist Cristina Fernández Cubas, was honored today with the National Narrative Prize for his work The room of Nona, as announced by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

the jury praised the “expertise” of the author to mix “the everyday and the fantastic, reaching the essence and vitality own of the best” of the short story, his preferred genre.

Fernández Cubas (Arenys de Mar, Barcelona, 1945) studied Law and Journalism, a profession which he practiced from a very young age. She is the author of books of stories such as My sister Elba (1980), With Agatha in Istanbul (1994) and poor relations of the devil (2006).

The collection All stories, in 2008, led him to obtain several awards, including the Ciutat de Barcelona of Literature in Castilian Language.

Among his works there are also novels such as The year of Grace (1985), or The swing (1995).

The National Narrative Prize is endowed with up to 20 thousand euro (21 thousand 400 dollars) and granted to the work of a Spanish author writing in any of the official languages and published in Spain. The past year was for Ignacio Martinez de Pison.
