The singer Joni Mitchell is hospitalized in Los Angeles – El Nuevo Herald

The singer Joni Mitchell was Tuesday at the intensive care unit of a hospital in the Los Angeles, according to the Twitter account and website of the artist folk, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Roll.

“Joni was found unconscious in his home this afternoon,” said a statement on its website. “Right now he is in intensive care, passing tests and is awake and in good spirits.”

It was not clear at first what ailed the artist.

A paramedic team responded afternoon to a 911 call in Bel Air, where Mitchell lives, and brought a patient to the hospital, officials said firefighters from Los Angeles, who were unable to verify the identity of the person or give details about his condition.

The singer-songwriter, 71, said in December Billboard magazine that has a problem of rare skin disease Morgellons, preventing him from acting. Still, last year published a Quad Drive spanning his entire career and appeared in a party before the Grammy in February.

Mitchell has received eight Grammy Awards, including one for his career in 2002. In 1997 he was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Roll.

It began playing in the street in his native Canada before moving to Southern California race, where he was part of the burgeoning folk scene in late 1960. His second album “Clouds” was his great leap to fame with songs like “Both Sides Now” and “Chelsea Morning” and earned her a Grammy for Best Performance folk.

Her 1970 album included “Ladies of the Canyon” included the hit “Big Yellow Taxi” and the iconic “Woodstock”. The following year he released “Blue”, which is ranked 30th in the list of the “500 Best Albums of All Time” magazine Rolling Stone.

Mitchell has published 19 original albums, the last in 2007. The anthology published last year, “Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A Ballet, Waiting to Be Danced”., includes 53 remastered versions of his songs

His musical style combines elements of folk and jazz, and has collaborated with jazz greats like Charles Mingus and Pat Metheny.

As he did with music, Mitchell taught himself to paint as a child and has produced hundreds of works in ink , watercolors and acrylic.
