Profile Goytisolo, nationality author Cervantes critic – The Universal


 “Being the subject of praise for the literary institution leads me to doubt myself, being non grata in the eyes of her person comforted me in my behavior and work.” These words belong to speech, brief and concise, that Juan Goytisolo he gave today during the reception of the Premio Cervantes , in Madrid.
 


 


 The writer was born in Barcelona on January 5, 1931. He lost his mother when he was only seven years, during a bombing of national aviation, at the time that his country lived under Franco.
 


 


 This may explain the rejection of Goytisolo towards the conservative and traditional Spain. “My gut reserve nationalism of all kinds and its totemic identity and incapable of embracing the richness and diversity of its content, has it led me to embrace as a lifeline claimed by Carlos Fuentes Cervantes nationality”, also said in his speech the highest award of the letters in Spanish.

 Juan Goytisolo is the brother of José Agustín Goytisolo (1928-1999) and Luis Goytisolo (1935) also writers.
 


 


 Advisor literary publishers like Gallimard, professor of literature at several universities, including California, Boston and New York and contributor to various media, such as El País , Goytisolo has developed its work in areas such as testing , narrative, story and memories.
