The political class should be grateful for caution: Luis Tosar – Vanguardia.com.mx

Venice, Italy.- Galician actor Luis Tosar returns to the Venice Film Festival with “The Unknown,” a thriller with the issue of the consequences of the economic crisis as a backdrop, and directed by debutant Daniel de la Torre .

The film, about a manager of banking discovers that have placed a bomb under the seat of his car, opened Gironate degli Autori, a parallel section at the Italian event, the same in which he participated the existosa “Cell 211″ when first came to the city of canals. In conversation with dpa, the actor speaks of Spanish cinema, the crisis and what not imagine doing

dpa. We’ll know as a resigned unemployed (“Mondays in the Sun”) and now you’re an aggressive executive (“Unknown”) How has your career changed since then

Tosar: At what point I was wrong? (Laughs) In a way has greatly changed, because it is true that a reference as “Mondays in the Sun,” a social realism with touches of humor, to go on to make a film like “The unknown” part of Current tough but told with twigs of pure thriller social reality, because there is a slight change in tone. But that has to do with a general change in the world of Spanish cinema, with losses of modesty, of daring and with gender, of varying forms of storytelling

dpa. “The unknown “poses an extreme response to the economic crisis in Spain Are the Spaniards are very content

Tosar: Yes, we are completely moderate, educated and politicians should be grateful to the wisdom of citizen. We are very respectful people, because all they have done to the people in Spain in recent times, there are people who have had a rough time. There are people who had every reason to be angry over what has been angry. I think people have been very sensitive and very quiet for all that was rolling. Of course, what is involved in the film is the worst solution of all and so it is best to make a film and stay there, but the desire there, yes. Surely many will pass them with this film as my mother with Chuck Norris movies, representing the pleasure of revenge, give a good slap whoever deserves it.

dpa “Unknown” is a fast paced thriller that hardly made in Spain Is there any fear of such gender

Tosar? I think not and therefore we conquered much modesty, I think we have removed the shame and there are directors like Dani (de la Torre) who come stomping and very straight, with enough straight to raise producers a film of this nature with no a lot of money and fully solvent. And that a few years ago it was hard to happen, because everybody thought that no money could not be done. People like Daniel is very clear that you can make those films and me gives me a brutal security, because you know that nothing will be ridiculous

dpa. Apparently we’re going to see suffer enough in the coming months with “Unknown” and “Ma Ma” (Julio Medem) Is this a compensation for everything you’ve done suffer the viewer maltrador (“Take My Eyes”) or harassing (“Sleep Tight”)

Tosar: (laughs) People think that I did not suffer, but I think what happened in those movies worse than these. These are much more catárquicas if you want something reconciliatory processes one has to deal with emotions. And yet, a movie like “Take My Eyes” is a work counter, entering a dark area that you do not want to visit. For me it was a work within the meaning of suffering much harder

dpa. What person would you like to do and have not done? Does beau

Tosar: (laughs) I just think I would not know, I think I would not go. I am a laborer and my references gañanas yet. It would be a challenge as an actor in any case, but it would be complicated
