The Latin American cinema swept Saturday at the Venice Film Festival by winning two major awards at the 72nd edition, the Golden Lion and Silver Lion for the film From there Venezuelan Lorenzo beams and The clan Argentine Pablo Trapero.
The prizes were awarded by a jury headed by Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón and integrated by actresses Diane Kruger (Germany) and Elizabeth Banks (USA), directors Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey), Hou Hsiao-hsien (Taiwan), Lynne Ramsay (GB), Francesco Munzi (Italy) and Pawel Pawlikowski (Poland) and screenwriter and writer Emmanuel Carrère (France)
