James Dean: The Curse of the Porsche that caused his death – Trade

Today marks 60 years since the tragic accident of James Dean aboard his Porsche 550 Spyder, which ended up costing the life of one of the great icons in the history of cinema. Dean despite only living 24 years was considered one of the greatest talents in Hollywood. . His filmography only three films is reduced: East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant, the last two released after his death

But the death of Dean hides a story that seems straight out of a movie suspense. The curse of his Porsche 550 Spyder, nicknamed Little Bastard (Little Bastard).

It all begins when Dean was filming Rebel Without a Cause and decided to change his Porsche Spyder 356 for 550, the same that led to where the famous movie cars preparer, George Barris, who would put tartan seats and put the red stripes body and the number 130 on the doors, hood and trunk lid. Shortly after the inscription was placed “Little Bastard”.

The September 23, 1955, James Dean met fellow actor Alec Guinness, known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the first trilogy La Wars. This seeing his car told he had a sinister aspect and if that car up would end up dead. A week later he suffered the fatal accident.

After that they began a series of events that have not yet explained, George Barris bought by 2500 what remained of the car Dean shortly after the car slipped off the trailer where He was and broke the leg of Barris.

I was not long for Barris sold the engine and transmission all Troy McHenry and William Eschrid. Both put different parts of “Little Bastard” to their cars and when facing a race McHenry lost control and ended up crashing into a tree dying instantly Eschrid’s car, meanwhile, he was then overturned that suddenly blocked leaving him seriously injured. In turn Barris sold two tires 550 Spyder, shortly after both burst causing forgetfulness its new owner.

What’s more where thieves entered Barris kept what was left of Porsche James Dean, one will tear your arm to try to take the helm and another was injured while trying to remove the seat of tartan.

With the string of events Barris decided to hide the car but was convinced by Patrol California Highway to deliver it to be displayed, but it was never put on display as a first attempt the garage of the house where he was burned and a second chance slipped off the podium at the school where it was displayed and completed breaking a student’s hip.

Shortly after the truck that was carrying auto parts crashed and when the californinana entity decided that they should have the car and were going to return to this disappeared suddenly Barris . To this day no one knows exactly what happened to the rest of the Porsche 550 Spyder damn James Dean.
