NEW YORK (AFP) .- Cubist Guitars and violins sheet metal, monumental heads and busts of women with plaster disproportionate eyes, a man with a lamb in her arms bronze : some 140 works covering 60 years of Picasso sculptor shine from next Monday at the MoMA in New York

“Picasso Sculpture”, the largest exhibition in half a century in the United States dedicated to this facet of the Spanish artist, brings together 140 works, many of them loans from public and private collections, mainly from the National Picasso Museum in Paris, which accounted for almost a third.

The sample is from 1902 and the first works in bronze, wood and plaster, to his sculptures with sheets Painted metal period 1954-1964, through the cubist period, the prewar years in Boisgeloup (France), World War II and stage in Vallauris and Cannes, on the French Riviera gala.
