The guitarist and singer David Gilmour offer a new tour next September, almost a decade after the last one did, and present a new solo album, said Wednesday on its website.
The new album by Gilmour, which still do not know the title or release date, is his fourth solo album and is the first album published since 2006 submit “On An Island”.
European tour accompanying the release of the album includes three performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall as well as stops in Croatia, Italy, France and Germany.
The announcement comes a few months after Pink Floyd market hurl his latest album, the first in over two decades, entitled “The Endless River,” a mostly instrumental album dedicated keyboardist Rick Wright died in 2008.
“The Endless River” gets the sounds the group in the 90s and explained Gilmour, one of the producers along with Phil Manzanera, Youth and Andy Jackson, it feeds on “the music that emerged from the sessions (recording) of ‘Division Bell’ in 1993″.
Gilmour, a native of Cambridge, is part of the band Pink Floyd was formed in London in 1965 being the initial components Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright.
Gilmour joined in 1967 and Barrett, who had mental health problems, left the group a year later.
Pink Floyd is considered one of the most influential ensembles of the twentieth century and counts among its successes Albums “The dark side of the moon”, “The Wall” and “Wish you were here”.
