World Paddle Tour suspends the test specified in the amphitheater of … – Yahoo Eurosport ES

Mérida, March 20 (EFE) .- The organizers of the World Paddle Tour have reported that the test is suspended announced in its official calendar scheduled from 4 to 10 May in the Roman Amphitheater in Merida and communicate in a few days a new location and dates in Spain.

In a brief statement on its website, the organizers have communicated its decision to desist from holding the trial in the Roman Amphitheater, which had generated much controversy.

Numerous associations for the protection of heritage, people of the world of culture and political authorities had ruled against the holding of this event in that venue.

In addition, an initiative by the platform change.org leads collected over 195,000 signatures against.

However, the Junta de Extremadura had stated today that the project is “exemplary” and another location for the sporting event is not raised.
