Venezuela did not participate in this year’s Alfaguara – El Universal (Venezuela)

The XVIII Alfaguara Novel Prize, failed today, had a turnout of 707 unpublished novels, none from Venezuela, a country that participated in the 2014 edition of 36 novels.

Despite the importance of the award, only participated eight countries

Of the 707 books, 320 were from Spain, 106 in Mexico, 102 in Argentina, 77 in Colombia, 41 US, 32 in Peru, 20 in Chile and nine in Uruguay.; the publisher confirmed this award.

The allocation of Alfaguara is 175 thousand dollars a sculpture, and is considered one of the most prominent awards in Spanish literature after the Planet -otorgado by editorial same name and endowed with 601,000 euros and Cervantes, awarded to the complete works of an author and is considered the Nobel of Hispanic literature.
