The Economic Culture Fund (FCE) of Mexico regretted the death of prominent Swedish writer Tomas Tranströmer , Nobel Prize for Literature 2011, at 83 years old.

Through a statement, recalled that the Bard died in his native land is considered one of the leading voices of the recent European generations, whose work has been translated into more than 40 languages due to the influence conceived in contemporary literature.
His literary career began in 1954 with his book “17 dikter” (17 poems), and from there dawned for his brilliant verses and their ability to novelistic creation, scored the publisher.
Some of his most memorable works are: “Hemligheter pa vägen” (Secrets on the road), 1958, and “Den halvfärdiga himlen” (Heaven half done), 1962 and translated into Castilian in 2010.
They also excel “Klanger och spar” (clangs and Traces, 1966); “To live and dead” (Hyperion, 1991); and “The great enigma” (2004).
Addition to the maximum literary award, the Nobel Prize which won in 2011, the Swedish author had also been awarded the Bonnier for Poetry, the Neustadt International Literature 1990 and 1981 Petrarch Germany.
The FCE selected some of the poems of Tomas Tranströmer for his anthology published in 2011: “Poets translators Traslaciones 1939-1959.” Coordinated by Tedi López Mills.
The book includes the participation of 38 translators who provide the best verses of universal literature.
Tranströmer’s poems included in the quoted text are: “Gogol”, “Caprichos”, “Time Table”, “Morning Birds” and “lonely Swedish Houses”.
