Disney and Lucasfilm announced that the Star Wars film VIII hit theaters in May 2017, as a spin-off of the story will delve more into the life of each of the main characters.
The Disney Company president Bob Iger, was in charge of publicizing the news as well as to reveal who the director of this new saga.
The chosen this time is Rian Johnson, known for films like Looper, as well as directing three episodes of Breaking Bad.
It was also learned that the spin-off will be entitled Rogue One and will be released in December 2016.
