Died Spanish writer and journalist Francisco González Ledesma – El Universal (Venezuela)

Barcelona.- The Catalan writer and journalist Francisco González Ledesma, one of the leaders of the black novel social court in Spain, died early today, a few days shy of 88 years.

“Tristes by the death of Francisco González Ledesma, one of the pioneers of black genre in our country,” confirmed today on Twitter Planet Group, with whom Ledesma published numerous novels, among others, Award winning editorial “sentimental Chronicle red”. The writer had suffered a stroke in 2001 and since then his public appearances were limited.

Early Novelist, González Ledesma began writing scripts for comics publisher Bruguera and, under the pseudonym Silver Kane, Westerns with which his law is coasting. At 21, he won the International Prize for Fiction Editor Joseph Janes by “Shades old”, which however could not be published because of the Franco censorship.

His most memorable novels are those belonging to the Commissioner Méndez series, which began in 1983 with “File Barcelona” and culminated in 2013 with “Worst Ways to Die”. For many years, he combined his career as a novelist with journalism, first in the “Correo Catalan” and then “La Vanguardia” newspaper of which he became editor.
