A well-known illusionist american managed to escape death after trying to stop a bullet with his mouth. The images are circulating on YouTube and have generated hundreds of reactions on social networks.

David Blaine decided to perform a trick that had only run three times since 2010. His act was performed in front of 20 thousand spectators at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, in the united States.

The show consisted of shooting anything less than a rifle to his mouth to try to catch the cartridge with their teeth. Himself shot the weapon, since none of his assistants wanted to do it. With the help of a metallic shield with a small shield bulletproof would try to catch the projectile.

As can be seen in the material from YouTube, at first everything went as he expected, as the bullet struck fair in the small shield. But the blow was so strong that the protector was broken and shot out towards his throat.

The illusionist believed that this was his end. "When the bullet hit the shield, I felt a high-pitched ringing in my ears and a later impact in the throat". He thought that the bullet had pierced his head. "I thought I was dead. But, suddenly, I realized that I was alive because the pain brought me back. The protector was broken, but I was alive," said the american, according to “Daily Mail”.

Blaine began his career with the magic street, by games of cards, levitation, illusions with small objects such as coins, and tricks with animals. Blaine went out to the streets with a cameraman to make their illusions in front of people, he managed to have several specials on television such as David Blaine: Street Magic, David Blaine: Magic Man and David Blaine: Mystifier.
