Paul McCartney complaint to Sony/ATV for copyright – The Press

Paul McCartney filed Wednesday a lawsuit in a Manhattan federal court against Sony/ATV by the ownership of the copyright of many of the hits that he composed along with John Lennon when they were the Beatles.

The rights were bought by Michael Jackson and sold to Sony/ATV after his death.

McCartney has sought for years to recover the property, and in his complaint states that he sent a notice to Sony/ATV in which he said that the claim under a clause of the copyright law of the united States that can make that possible from 2018.

McCartney seeks a ruling stating that their claims do not represent a violation of the law that Sony/ATV could be used against you.

Sony pointed out that the lawsuit is “unnecessary and premature”.
