Colombia: stolen first edition of “One Hundred Years of Solitude” of … – Daily Mail

A copy of the first edition of “One Hundred Years of Solitude” with dedication Nobel Gabriel García Márquez it was stolen from the lodge Macondo of the International Book Fair of Bogota (FILBO) confirmed today the organizers.

The theft of the book was detected night Saturday, Efe said a source close to the Colombian Book Chamber source.

The bookseller stolen copy belongs to Alvaro Castillo, who had borrowed for the show.

“Unfortunately we have to confirm the robbery. This afternoon we will issue an official statement about what happened,” said the source.

The stolen book was exposed in the flag of Macondo Guest of honor of the XXVIII edition of the fair, which ends tomorrow.

“One Hundred Years of Solitude” was first published in 1967 by Editorial Sudamericana de Buenos Aires and since then became a phenomenon of world literature.
