The TriStar studio (owned Sony) has just signed an agreement with The Jim Henson Co. to produce a new release of the original film, with co-writer of the hit Guardians of the Galaxy script signing it. And it seems that fans of the 1986 cult film not made them very funny news, considering the alleged opportunism of this decision, after the death of the protagonist of the story a few days ago.
So things, Perlman said in recent hours, through its official Twitter account that the film in question will not be a “reboot” (restart) of history. “We will not do anything reboot, guys. Henson Co. and myself started to talk at the end of 2014 … Never try to profit from the death of Bowie. Labyrinth is my favorite movie childhood, so I understand their concerns that any continuation of this world is carried with love and respect, “said the American.
Now well. It is not known whether the film will be a “remake” or a sequel to Bowie and Jennifer Connelly star in 30 years, or which actors will participate in the film . What is confirmed is that Lisa Henson, daughter of Jim (director of Labyrinth) is responsible for producing the film with Tristar.
It is recalled that the iconic 1986 film followed the adventures of a girl, named Sarah (Connelly), who must go through a mysterious labyrinth of fantasy to save his brother, who had been kidnapped by goblins and was in the hands of the powerful king Jareth (Bowie). Terry Jones was in charge of the script and George Lucas served as executive producer of Labyrinth .
By now , have not clarified how they will address around Jareth, King Goblins, the role played by the magical and unforgettable David Bowie.
