The British singer Colin Vearncombe, popularized under the name Black’s “Wonderful Life” in the late 80s, has died at age 53 after suffering a traffic accident in Ireland two weeks ago, said Tuesday its website Facebook official.

Vearncombe remained in an induced eat from the collision that occurred on January 10 near the Irish Cork Airport near the village of Schull, where he lived for more than a decade.

The doctors had warned Sunday that the state of the musician, born in Liverpool (England), had deteriorated , while his family had asked fans to send him “positive and healing energy.”

“We are aware of the pain felt by all who love and are deeply grateful for the thousands of messages of love and support, “the family said in their final statement.

Black , which published more than a dozen albums, also wrote books of poetry and she premiered several art exhibitions in Ireland in recent years.

His most celebrated creations, “Sweetest smile” and “Wonderful Life,” his first album, released in 1987.

Vearcombe then had published several issues, the first of them in 1981 (“Human Features”), but first attained the attention of the music industry “Wonderful life” , a song he wrote after being fired in 1985 from his previous record.

Following these successes, the musician regularly published albums, with a creative break between 1993 and 1999.

In April 2015 he released his latest album, “Blind Faith,” which grew out of a project of collective funding Vearncombe had begun months earlier. EFE
