Cuarón asks Europe to receive migrants – El Universal

The Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron, president of the official jury of the 72nd edition of the Venice Film Festival, today called on European countries receiving immigrants arriving in their territories.

The jury of the “Orizzonti” section is headed by director Jonathan Demme and includes Alix filmmakers Delaporte, Fruit Chan and actresses Paz Vega and Anita Caprioli.

Meanwhile, the jury of the “Venezia Opera Prima Luigi De Laurentis Award”, is headed by Italian director Saverio Costanzo.

This section also includes Mexican journalist Daniela Michel, founder and director of the Festival of Morelia; Hong Kong producer Roger Garcia, Natacha Laurent French critics and the American filmmaker Charles Burnett.
