The popular horror film ‘ Know What You Did Last Summer ‘ (I Know What You Did Last Summer’) (1997) will have a new version that hit theaters in 2016, said Monday the specialized blog Deadline.
The film directed by Jim Gillespie, written by and starring Kevin Williamson Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Ryan Phillippe and Anne Heche , grossed $ 125 million around the world.
The new version will be e scribed and produced by Mike Flanagan , known for his work at the recent horror hit ‘Oculus’. Flanagan will partner with Neal Moritz, producer of the original film, to adapt again the eponymous book in which the story was based, written by Lois Duncan in 1973.
The plot of the original film revolved around . a group of friends who decided to cover up a tragic accident and they were subsequently stalked by a murderer with a hook
In that film was followed by two sequels: ‘I Still Know What You Did Last Summer ‘ (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer) (1998), in which repeated Hewitt and Prinze Jr., and ‘ I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer ‘ (2006), released directly to DVD without any of the actors from the previous films.
