Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne brothers will be in charge of opening the official section of the 59th edition of the International Film Festival of Valladolid (Seminci), composed mostly of European cinema with his latest film “Deux jours, une nuit “(Two days, one night).
Of the twenty films that make up the official selection of the 59th Seminci, to be held from 18 to 25 October, mostly from Europe, but three with origin in the United States, one in Mexico and another in China, said today the organization of the festival in a statement.
The closing of the contest will be carried by the French director Jean Becker’s comedy “Bon rétablissement ” (Get well soon), which will compete for the Golden Spike, the highest honor of the festival.
The official section also present the latest films from veteran directors such as Volker Schlöndorff German filmmaker, who will participate with the film ” Diplomatie “(Diplomacy), and Zhang Yimou, who has already won several awards in Seminci as the Golden Spike in 1990, and that this time will present his film” Gui lai “(Homeward), starring Gong Li .
