Jon Polito died, actor Coen – Clarín.com

The American actor Jon Polito, a regular contributor to the films of the Coen brothers, died at age 65, reported this morning his friend and film director John McNaughton via a message via Facebook.

According to the specializing TMZ, Polito died in the Californian city of Duarte due to cancer that was diagnosed in 2008. The actor went into a coma on Sunday and could never get out of that state. In addition, the interpreter suffered from arthritis and a recent surgery-related infection.

Born in Philadelphia on December 29, 1950 and of Italian descent, Polito became famous for its small but memorable roles in various films of the Coen brothers and often throughout his career gave life mobsters and criminals characters with a bizarre or humorous point.

His name appears in several movie credits Coen as “Going to the death” (1990), “Barton Fink” (1991) “The big Lebowski” (1998) and “The man who was not” (2001). In addition, the actor was under the orders of Clint Eastwood in “Flags of Our Fathers” (2006) and Tim Burton in “Big Eyes” (2014).

His thin mustache and sharp look led him to punctually participate in television series like “Modern Family”, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Seinfeld”
