The Museum of Design Barcelona will open its doors on Sunday after a long preparation period, the who has done extensive work of restoration and integration of over 70,000 pieces that comprise it, and will be open for free until January 31, 2015.

FOUR EXHIBITIONS
The museum opens with four exhibitions, whose average duration is three to five years, seeking to create links between works and artists from different periods and of all disciplines.
The first exhibition, “From the world to the museum. Product design, cultural heritage ‘, contains 2,000 works from the collection of industrial design, from 1930 to the present, and seeks to explain why and how these objects of daily life have become cultural heritage.
The second exhibition called ‘Extraordinary! Collections of decorative arts and crafts author (III-XIX centuries) ‘and gathers 1,200 pieces pursuing visitors delve into a world of forms, techniques and articles, and artisans and artists workshops studies have addressed the object arts from a contemporary perspective.
