Started in 1987 by the city of Barcelona and the European Commission, the prize of € 60,000 is the most important European architecture and is awarded biennially to works finished in the two years prior to shipment. The Emerging Architect Prize consists of € 20,000 and is awarded to those professionals who begin their work. Earlier studies have won architectural Bosch Capdeferro Arquitectures by the Collage House in Girona and Langarita-Navarro Architects for the Red Bull Music Academy / Ship Music Matadero Madrid.
The Prize 2015 presents an important innovation, the implementation of Young Talent Architecture Prize (YTAP). This award will recognize the best architectural projects final grade and will allow authors establish a professional network with the Winner, Finalists and Emerging Architect.
