Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510) reinvents the Victoria & amp; Albert Museum in London with an exhibition that explores the influence of Florentine painter in a lot of artists, from the Pre-Raphaelites nineteenth century to contemporary artists like Andy Warhol.
Botticelli Reimagined , the largest display of Italian held in the UK, presented March 5 to July 3 150 works from around the world reveal different interpretations of artists and designers legacy of the fifteenth century.
from painting, fashion or film, to drawing, photography, tapestry, sculpture or engraving, the exhibition includes works of different artistic branches such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones, William Morris, René Magritte, Elsa Schiaparelli and Cindy Sherman .
the exhibition is divided into three sections, ranging from the present to the fifteenth century, including a turning point in the nineteenth. In the presentation, Commissioner Ana Debenedetti said the show “begins with the more familiar contemporary art to the public, and keeps track of the source of inspiration through the different layers of reinventing Botticelli”.
