Something as strong as Shakespeare did not go with him; Dario Fo, who Thursday turns 90, looks more like a buffoon, a mime.
“I went to the theater not with the idea of playing Hamlet, but with the intention of being a clown, comedian, “he said in 1997 when he received the Nobel prize for Literature. Almost no other Italian has this grace in speech and that talent for storytelling.
