Kore-Eda universe, Hirokazu Kore-eda cycle – Movie Night

“Our little sister ‘, the latest film by Hirokazu Kore-eda, is the adaptation of the award-winning graphic novel Umimachi Diary of Akimi Yoshida. This time the director is immersed in a female universe to explore the unity and love in a dysfunctional family, which, however, strong ties prevail. Three sisters, Sachi, Yoshino and Chika, share house in the city of Kamakura. When his father died, whom they have not seen in 15 years, the three travel to the country to attend the funeral and meet Suzu, his shy sister. They soon become attached to her and invite her to live in the city. So begins a new life of joy and discovery for four. ‘Our little sister’ participated in the Official Selection at Cannes 2015 and the Pearls Section of the International San Sebastian Film Festival 2015 where it won the Audience Award.

‘Nobody knows’ (2004) tells the story of four children living quietly with his mother in an apartment Tokyo. None has the same father and they also have never been to school.
