2 Bacon works valued at 30 million euros were stolen – El Colombiano

Five works Francis Bacon , one of the most sought after contemporary artists, were stolen in the private residence in Madrid of a friend and heir to the Irish painter who died in the Spanish capital in 1992, according to the newspaper El País

the newspaper notes that this theft occurred in a house in a central district of Madrid and qualifies as the greatest theft of contemporary art occurred in Spain in recent decades.

the owner of the works, valued at about 30 million euros (36 million dollars) according to the newspaper, is identified with JCB initials, 59, who received the paintings inherit the artist.

The coup was the work of professionals who left no fingerprints or loose ends and it is suspected that the authors knew the floor housed this valuable collection of Irish painter.
