Many came to his home in north London, to lay flowers and messages.

The music world was shook with the news, and from Elton John and Robbie Williams to Andrew Ridgeley, with whom he rose to fame with the duo Wham! in the decade of the 80, left senses messages on their social networks.

The cause of his death is still unknown. According to Billboard magazine, which quotes the representative of the singer, Michael Lippman, the pop-star died of a heart attack.

Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, his real name, was born in London on June 25, 1963, the son of a Greek cypriot who had emigrated in the 1950s in the United Kingdom.

In the decade of the 80′s he formed together with Andrew Ridgeley in the duo Wham!, one of the "boy band" most popular of the time.

As an artist led to repeated times the list of main and sold over 100 million albums. Among them, a successful "Faith", in 1987, the first after breaking with Ridgeley.

At the end of 2011 had survived a pneumonia, and in recent years had been kept out of the focus of public. The artist had planned to publish next year a documentary on these last few years.
