An up-and-down of emotions. This seems to have been the life of George Michael , English singer that the day before yesterday, the 53-year-old, died at her home, on the outskirts of London. Success excessive pop of the years 80 to fall down the slide of the excesses of the 90′s. A composer of dancing music and ballads “perfect”, that went on to sell over 100 million albums. A man tormented for almost a decade, flirting with death, to be the top car at full speed, a prisoner of her addictions or locked up for months in his mansion in a depressed state, as happened two years ago. Above the stage was an icon of the 80′s. Below, a reference to the rights of the LGBT community. “People want to see me as a character, and tragic, sex in public toilets, and consumption of drugs, but I no longer even consider that as a weakness. It is simply who I am.”

on Sunday night, through a statement, the representative of the musician broke the news that, quickly, moved to Britain as a whole, their colleagues and their fans, who always saw in Michael to one of their national representatives, the most emblematic (for twenty years he was the british artist most played on the radio and in 2012 was commissioned to close the London Olympic Games): “it is With great sadness we confirm that our beloved son, brother and friend George died peacefully in his home during the Christmas period. We ask for respect for his family in these hard times”. According to the british police, “until the moment the death is being regarded as unexplained, but not suspicious.”

Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou -the son of a Greek cypriot and an English – born in the famous london suburb of East Finchley, on the 25th of June 1963. Together with Andrew Ridgeley, at 18 years of age, he created the duo Wham! and the public discovered in him the image of a hedonist that represented the era. After several events business as “Careless Whisper” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”, in 1985 Wham! it was erected as the first western group to play in China and Michael in one of the cards of the megalomaniac festival Live Aid (photo).

A year later, the duo was split up and, tired of being considered just a pretty face for teens, Michael was prepared for his launch as a solo artist. His first album, Faith, led him to the top of his career. It was 1987, Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna crossed their golden age and George Michael sought his place with songs funk-pop like “I Want Your Sex” and “Faith” and ballads like “One More Try” and “Kissing a Fool”.

As its much-admired Prince, in the 90′s fought publicly to his record label, Sony Music, and in 1992 was consecrated to replace Freddie Mercury in a tribute to the recently deceased singer of Queen, at Wembley.

once past the decade that is best for you sat down, Michael alternated good and bad in music and, as the time requested, mutated into an animal in the media, between the scandal and the controversy, dam juicy to the yellow press.

In 1998, after being arrested in a public bath of Beverly Hills, openly acknowledged being gay and from then on raised the flags in defense of the LGBT community. Already in the new millennium, suffered from a number of facts that almost cost you the life, like a nervous breakdown after separating from your partner with the one that lived 13 years. While their last album dated back to 2004 (Patience), the singer was planning a return-to-measure in 2017.

Paradoxes of this life, he died in full Christmas, while in many british homes desempolvaban that simple of Wham! that often return in this era, called The Last Laugh (the last Christmas).
