Looking for the best film of recent times, the BBC decided to turn to specialists and conducted a survey of 117 critics from 36 countries to chose. Two Argentine films on the list of 100 selected: The Headless Woman Lucrecia Martel (was ranked 89) and The Secret in Their Eyes of Juan Jose Campanella (it was in ’91).
Martel’s film is a drama filmed in 2008 in Salta (as usual in the productions of the board of directors) starring María Onetto, Guillermo Arengo and cast. Meanwhile, The Secret … was winning the Oscar as best foreign film in 2010. It is based on a novel by Eduardo Sacheri and starring Ricardo Darin, Soledad Villamil Guillermo Francella and police, between others.
