‘Star Trek Beyond’ – Hypertextual

But it so does not have to be necessarily positive. In fact, if Star Trek Beyond can be considered the least satisfactory of the three that make up the moment the reboot, it is because looks much more than the two previous ones to rest, to dynamic light adventure without too much introspection and, of course, much less dramatic and spectacular of what came to offer good Abrams . When the real drama was presented and internal dilemmas of the characters came out strongly to the surface in the films of the old captains James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), these rose even a pelín, and that’s what Abrams potentiated in the preceding two, apart from the exciting clashes, emotional and his own great showmanship.

Star Trek (Abrams , 2009) and Star Trek into Darkness (Abrams 2012) was an effort to make recognizable characters making visible very clearly their idiosyncrasies in the talks, in their behavior and especially in the case of Kirk and Spock, his interests, probably due to the very fact reboot, Star Trek Beyond develops more by sheer inertia than anything else . Lin and his team have thought that the two history films had already renewed and made identifiable identity of the saga and thus have preferred to focus on the adventures of the crew of the Enterprise with few respites , something that the director is given to light passing well by Fast and Furious and this, his final result. So have minimized the troubles of Kirk and Spock, raised and resolved here superficially .

Perhaps influenced by the limited insight, interpretations of Chris Pine as Kirk and, in particular, Zachary Quinto as Spock dingy feel more this time; although both they and the rest of the cast unfold easily, including the new additions: Sofia Boutella as Jayhla and Idris Elba as Krall, the latter a villain driven by the same desire that Nero (Eric Bana) in the first tenth, the individual who embodies Benedict Cumberbatch in the twelfth and others in the past. And funny Scotty wins more prominence , perhaps because Pegg himself, who gives life, is also one of the authors of this script, as we have seen, and has reserved the right to pamper more to his character.

But Star Trek Beyond more trek and less emotionally deep and absorbent, and its weakest characters, it does not mean that it can not be A cinematic adventure competent and pleasant entertainment . This is despite everything, because Lin manages the two hours it takes us to spend more or less flying with the momentum that imbues the film. And I must say that, if some elements leave us with an open mouth at one point, one of them is the fabulous design Starbase Yorktown, devised by the writers , and perhaps some revelation identity similar to that of Star Trek into Darkness .

Conclusion

Star Trek Beyond will not go down in history as one of the best installments of this legendary galactic saga, and we almost seems made with autopilot. But something must have these fictional voyages of the Starship Enterprise through space, the final frontier, to go where no other human being has ever come.

Pros

  • What is a cinematic adventure competent and pleasant entertainment.
  • That the funny thing Scotty (Simon Pegg) gains more prominence.
  • the fabulous design starbase Yorktown, devised by the writers.

Cons

  • what is much less dramatic and spectacular than the previous two.
  • it develops more by sheer inertia than anything else.
  • You have minimized the troubles of Kirk and Spock.
