The movie “Truman” by Cesc Gay, starring Ricardo Darin and Javier Cámara, achieved the highest number of awards at the 30th edition of the Goya Awards with five awards.
“Truman” won the Goya awards in the categories of best film, director, original screenplay, actor and supporting actor.
Second ranked “Nobody wants night” by Isabel Coixet, with four Goya in the categories of best original music (Lucas Vidal), hair and makeup, costume design and production management.
The big favorite, “The Bride,” adapted from the director Paula Ortiz to “Blood Wedding” by Federico Garcia Lorca, was only two awards, for Best Cinematography and supporting actress for Luisa Gavasa.
“Bride” had 12 nominations for the 30th edition of the Goya Awards, the most important of the Spanish cinema.
It was a ceremony full of surprises, with a performance by renowned singer Joan Manuel Serrat and discreet homage Calanda Drums of the late Spanish director Luis Buñuel.
The film “for nothing” got the new director award for Best Newcomer Daniel Guzman and Miguel Herran.
The film “Unknown” won two Goya in the categories of editing and sound, while “Palm Trees in the Snow” took the awards for best original song (Pablo Alboran and Lucas Vidal) and best art direction.
The other winning films were: “Anacleto” for best special effects; “An Autumn without Berlin”, Best Actress for Irene School; “A perfect day” Best Adapted Screenplay; and “room and board”, Best Actress for Natalia de Molina.
The film “The Clan”, the Argentinean Pablo Trapero, won the Goya for best Latin American film; “Mustang” won the award for best European film, and the blockbuster “Capture the Flag” won in the category of animation.
