Two galleries and more than 20 local artists will be at ARCO – El Universal (Venezuela)

the leading international exhibition of contemporary art from Spain, ARCO, up to 35 years with a special edition in which the proposals of 221 galleries from 27 countries of the world will be screened.

The event will be inaugurated today to extend until Sunday will be participating two galleries and at least 21 Venezuelan artists, including masters (some now deceased) and emerging artists.

The gallery Carmen Araujo Arte will represent the country with recent work by Christian Vinck and Marco Montiel-Soto; while Abra (former Office # 1) will be with the proposal of the artist Erika Ordosgoitti.

Works teacher Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesus Soto and Gego also be displayed in this international exhibition but hand foreign galleries, such as the works of his countrymen Ivan Candeo, Juan Araujo, Elias Crespin, Alexander James, Camilo Barboza, Muu Blanco, Oscar Abraham Pabon, Luis Romero, Rafael Serrano, Luis Arroyo, Eduardo Gil, Arturo Herrera, Luis Molina-Pantin, Ernesto Montiel and Ricardo Peña.

Vink presented in Madrid a series of small format paintings in which he explores the transformations of signs and ancestral representations in Venezuelan contemporary culture, inspired by ethnicity Yanomami. Montiel-Soto also refers to Latin American indigenous cultures, but through a series of facilities which restates the utopian representations which tend to be addressed.

In ARCO, Ordosgoitti introduce draft fire is water for the fish , which is composed of two videos, a photo and two poems laser engraved on wood, which explores the intersection between art and time with characteristic irreverence. In addition, the Caracas artist will give a recital of his poetry on Friday at 2:30 pm as part of the series of meetings and forums provided for in the programming of the Fair.
