Heroin and cocaine, the great vices of Scott Weiland – The Universal

The cause of death of Scott Weiland is still uncertain. After being found dead in the bus which ran the United States with his band, The Wildabouts, his remains will be subjected to a autopsy to determine the reasons of death.

However, the international press speculated that it could be a drug overdose . The thesis is absurd, because the singer had a long and tortuous history of consumption of heroin, cocaine and crack .

The musician, who died 48 years, he never denied his problems with hallucinogens. In fact, more than once recalled that he began to take the mid-nineties, after the successful launch of the debut album Stone Temple Pilots , “Core” (1992).

“Getting to Manhattan with other friends from other bands I heard and asked their ‘contacts’ that will take them several bags of ‘China White’. And I could not pass up the ‘privilege’ of being a rock star and tonight before the first concert in New York I got high. The state that took me was indescribable, I felt calm and full of courage in a world full of demons and doubts. But I know it has been a journey of many conflicts and trouble they have destroyed vital parts of my life, “he said in an interview quoted by the website of the Gibson guitars.

After this, heroin became partner Weiland, like cocaine and crack. In 1995 he was prosecuted for buying the latter substance, and was sentenced to community service.

That incident was the “beginning of the end” of the band also formed brothers Robert (bass) and Dean DeLeo ( guitar), along with Eric Kretz (drums). The incident forced to suspend several shows already sour relations within the quartet.

At the time, the singer went to live in a hotel because his inner circle began to pressure him to recover. He himself confessed that in that place used drugs frequently, especially at a time when he met often with the widow of Kurt Cobain , Courtney Love , who was staying in the same place.

Because of the tension between the musicians, by 1997 the group took a break, and Weiland began work on his solo debut, “12 Bar Blues”.

In that period was again prosecuted for heroin and crack , in the state of New York. Later, towards the end of 1998, he returned to compose the Stone Temple Pilots and the following year they released “No. 4″. By 2001 they released their fifth studio album, “Shangri – La Dee Da”.

While the relationship between Weiland and his companions was better at this stage, never ceased drugs. Weiland stability foundered in 2003 when he was sentenced to jail for driving under the influence of illicit substances.

He allegedly therapy and drug away for a while. In the same period he began promoting his new band: Velvet Revolver . But in 2007 he reentered rehabilitation.

Since the mid-2000s, the US had high and low periods on a personal level, always with the constant companionship of drugs. This year she starred in a controversy when meeting drugged with a group of fans before a concert and offending one, saying it was practicing fellatio somewhere (in less elegant terms, clearly).

Shortly after he apologized and said he felt “very ashamed.” Heroin also hurt their two marriages . The first was a woman named Janina Castaneda (1994-2000) and the second with the model Mary Forsberg (2001-2007). In 2013 he married the photographer Jamie Weiland, with whom he remained until his death

Today the widow said, sobbing, told reporters:… “I can not deal with this now really”
