Fun Home and The Curious Incident of the Dog triumph in the Tony – El Universal (Venezuela)

NEW YORK Works Fun Home , winner of the Tony Award for best musical, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time , which took the prize the best drama, rose today as big winners of the 69th edition of these awards with five statuettes each.

Fun Home , independent musical tone and homosexual themes based on the comic by Alison Bechdel, was nominated for twelve awards and also won the awards for Best Actor in a Musical (Michael Cervaris), best direction, best script and best musical composition, said the agency Efe.

Meanwhile, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time , based on the novel by Mark Haddon autism, won five awards from six nominations, also taking the awards for best director, best actor in drama ( Alex Sharp), better lighting and better staging.

The King and I took the prize for best musical of replacement as well as three awards including the best more Actress in a Musical (Kelli O’Hara), and the best dramatic work was Skylight replacement.

The other big winners of the night were An American in Paris , with four awards technical, and The Audience , which reported to Helen Mirren’s award for best dramatic actress and Richard McCabe the award for best supporting actor.
