Apple yields to Taylor Swift on payment service artists … – ABC Color

NEW YORK. The giant Apple bowed to pressure from the pop star Taylor Swift and said it will pay to artists during a free trial period of three months of its new streaming music service.

The rotation of one of the most powerful corporations in the world is a sign of the extraordinary influence of the young artist of 25 years, on Sunday he announced it would boycott partially Apple’s new service Music.

Swift explained in a publication Tumblr their album 1989 Apple Music would not be in estimating “shocking and disappointing” that the Apple brand not remunerated for their songs during a free trial period of three months reserved for new subscribers.

“I find that completely different from this progressive and generous company,” he said.

But in an unexpected twist, Eddy Cue , vice president of Internet Software and Services, announced on Sunday night that the company had changed tack and compensate the artists at all stages.

Apple Music “will pay artists for streaming, even during the free trial period,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

With its new online music, Apple hopes to rival Spotify, Pandora or Deezer.

Apple dominates the market for the distribution and purchase of online music with its iTunes boutique. But consumers are increasingly opting for streaming, and in this case the heavy weight is the Swedish Spotify, with 60 million users, including 15 million using the pay version.

Apple Music will be available to users iPhones and iPads as of June 30 in 100 countries. But is scheduled for later launch a version compatible with Android, the mobile operating system from rival Google.

At first, the service will have free access, but after three-month trial cost 9, $ 99 per month with a family plan of 14.99 dollarsfor up to six people.
