“Yesterday” by The Beatles meets half a century and still like … – Daily Mail

The mythical theme “ Yesterday” of The Beatles is anniversary, just turned 50 years. The famous song of the British group was composed by Paul McCartney and recorded on June 14, 1965.

But had to wait to hear until September of that year, when the also classic album was released Help!.

Half a century later has become a success of The Beatles , but in the beginning I brought many problems head the group because Yesterday was not very much in two of the four members of the band. George Harrison and Ringo Star blamed both musicians it was a ballad where only McCartney performed as a soloist

She told Paul McCartney had this melody hit him in the head during a dream and could not remove it. What looked like a mind game came to become one of the most recognizable melodies of pop history in the hands of The Beatles. In his own words, it was like an old jazz tune, as I used to sing his father made him return to his past.

Impressed with what he had in hand, the first thing that made Paul was ensure that the melody was not an unintentional plagiarism. Once I had this clear, began to work in the future new song with the working title of Scrambled eggs (scrambled eggs).

With the passage of time Yesterday has become the most recorded song in the history of popular music, even to get a Guinness record for having It has been covered in over 3,200 different times so far. Among the artists who have reinterpreted this classic stand Marianne Faithfull, The Mamas and the Papas and Barry McGuire, The Seekers, Joan Baez, John Denver, Michael Bolton, Bob Dylan, Liberace, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Wet Wet Wet and Placido Domingo.
