The film ‘Tomorrowland’, starring by George Clooney , has been confirmed as one of the greatest failures of the year and its poor performance at the box office Disney could cost between 120 and 140 million, according to a report released today by The Hollywood Reporter .

The production, filmed partly in Valencia (Spain), reached the US Billboard last May 22 and so far has raised $ 77.3 million in this country and a total of 170.8 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

While these figures would represent a success for moderate budget films, Disney invested about $ 180 million to make ‘ Tomorrowland ‘ and nearly as many (150 million) in promoting the tape everywhere.

It is estimated that the tape just achieved exceed the figure of 200 million dollars in revenue, far from the 300 that would make up for the project not be in deficit.

‘ Tomorrowland ‘joins the list of Disney blockbusters that have failed over the past five years as’ The Lone Ranger’ Johnny Depp , which left a deficit of $ 190 million in 2013 and “John Carter,” which in 2012 generated $ 200 million in losses.

Other big-budget movies this year also crashed at the box office are ‘Jupiter Ascending “and” Seventh Son’.

Disney, however, compensate those red numbers with the success of ‘ Avengers: Age of Ultron ‘, which has already raised more than $ 1,300 million worldwide; ‘Cinderella’, which has exceeded 500 million, and is awaiting the debut in December of the presumably successful ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
