July 9, 2016, 8:54  Festival in Switzerland brings together  traditional and new styles of jazz Bern, July 9 (PL) the Montreux jazz Festival in Switzerland today celebrates five decades of existence as one of the most important of the world to gather traditions and new trends of the genre musical events.

 In its current edition, the event brings together the talents of various performers, including the Canadian Neil Young, American Patty Smith, the Mexican Carlos Santana, the Lana del Rey New Yorker and the British band Muse.

Launched on July 1 the festival had among its top attractions recital of American Quincy Jones, who recalled the creator of this great music festival, the late Claude Nobs.

Since its inception, a top event along these five decades has been to bring together all kinds of artists, so over the years has brought together jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Chuck Berry and Miles Davis.

Scheduled until July 16, the Montreux jazz Festival devotes special session to Brazilian music, supported by the presence of the singers Ana Carolina and João Bosco.

Created in 1967, the event becomes a big party for jazz lovers for groups every summer and tannery promising young artists in the Swiss town of Montreux, overlooking lake Geneva.
