Five (large) Songs To Remember Amy Winehouse – La Nacion (Argentina)

When a new anniversary of his untimely death birthday, a review of some of the best moments of his career

Amy Winehouse was 27 when he was found dead at his home in London on 23 July 2011.

on July 23, 2011, the world lost prematurely to one of the most promising artists of the century. Amy Winehouse was 27 years, two albums released and wide recognition for his way of interpreting and voicing a style crossed by jazz, soul, rhythm and blues and rock.

1. “Stronger than me”

The first debut single from his album, Frank (2003). Written by Winehouse and Salaam Remi, the song was dedicated to his then ex-boyfriend, Blake Fielder-Civil. The stormy relationship which had its ups and downs over several years inspired Amy to launch such powerful and aggressive as phrases “Because I have forgotten the joy of love of youth / I feel like a lady, and you are my child effeminate / you should be stronger than me. “

2. “Rehab”

The dilated second album of Amy Winehouse, Back to black (2006), opened with a catchy and full of irony song ( “They tried to go to rehab, but I said ‘no, no’ “) which, years later, would charge a sad sense and suffocated. This was definitely the single that launched the charts and made everyone wonder, “Who is that girl hairstyle old-style and eyes outlined?”.



3. “Back to Black”

The song that gave title to the album’s best-selling Winehouse (about 12 million copies worldwide) reporting, clear, darkness ensues abandonment. Amy, once again, left to view the fragility behind the character, with a resounding chorus: “Just say goodbye with words / I died a hundred times / You return to her / And I come back, I come back to us”

4. “You know I’m no good”

With the signing of the producer and creative partner Mark Ronson, Amy put her spirit to a song that seems to speak of her and only her. “I cheated myself / Like I knew I could do it / I told you, I’m complicated / You know I’m no good,” reads the letter.



5. “Love is a losing game”

Again, Ronson delved into the complicated love story of Winehouse with her ex-husband to write this small, intimate, sad epilogue flavored song. A jewel that did not become hit
