Loving Vincent is a film made from exclusively of paintings, sketches and sketches style painter Vincent Van Gogh, mobilized and developed narrative structure and history . This is the first animated film made in that peculiar way. The object is to tell the history of canon and demented painter, using 12 oil paintings handmade per second, which emulate or look like attempted the works of Van Gogh.
One hour film translates into 43,200 paintings. More than 100 artists have contributed to the project. It is produced by the winners studies Oscar BreakThru Films (Peter and the Wolf, 2008) and Trademark Films (Shakespeare in Love, 1998).
The techniques used are called stations paint animation work (PAWS, for its acronym in English). individual cubicles created and patented by BreakThru order to open the space that allows 30 painters complete the film 80 minutes, working simultaneously. It is projected that 56,800 paintings true.
