LeBlanc, who gave birth to Joey Tribbiani in the sitcom “Friends” on NBC, is the first non-British actor to encourage the program in its 39-year history.

“Top Gear” he has conquered a large international television audience with its mix of advice about cars, vehicle stunts, jokes and extreme tricks.

“As a crazy cars and a big fan of Top Gear, I am honored to be part of the new chapter of this flagship program,” LeBlanc said. “What a thrill!”.

The renewal was necessary after the host Jeremy Clarkson was in the midst of a scandal. Clarkson was fired after having hit a producer during an altercation off camera. Two other presenters also left the program.

The altercation threatened the future of “Top Gear” for the intrepid Clarkson was much of the appeal of the program. An alleged enemy of political correctness, Clarkson found himself in trouble with the BBC for a series of incidents involving the use of a racist word while recording an episode.

LeBlanc’s involvement was announced while Evans tweeted a picture of them together with the character with helmet program known as “The Stig”.

“represent our craziest ideas about cars on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be discussing ideas for some epic road trips,” Evans said.

Currently the series is broadcast in more than 50 countries and the BBC has sold the format for versions of local production in the United States, China, Russia, Australia and South Korea.
