Lennon’s guitar auctioned stolen – Digital Journal Juarez

Beverly Hills – An acoustic guitar used by John Lennon to record and write ‘Love Me Do’, ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ and other hits was sold for 2.4 millions of dollars at auction.

The Gibson J-160E was sold on Saturday to a buyer undisclosed, as Julien’s Auctions.

The auction house said the guitar was one of the two unique specimens of this type that were taken from the US to England to Lennon and George Harrison in 1962. Lennon used the instrument for nearly a year before exchanging with Harrison; Later he disappeared during a Christmas concert in 1963.
