La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the flagship project of Antoni Gaudí, is finally finished in 2026, a century after the architect’s death, he took over in 1883 of a play that changed full and who dedicated, exclusively, the last twelve years of his life.
The principal architect of the Sagrada Familia, Jordi Faulí said today at a press conference that the building work currently have a budget of about 25 million euros (28.3 million dollars) in 2016 and begin construction of the top of the central towers, namely, those of Jesus, Mary and the four Evangelists.
These “central towers are only visible from the outside from 2017, and will end altogether in 2020, still missing the pinnacles crowned structures,” said Faulí.
The construction of these structures are made with a technique never before used on such a large scale, consisting go riding “gradually” stone panels with irons prestressed inside to get “a tough group and one-piece, which hold good wind,” he said architect.

The construction of the basilica began in 1882 and in 1883 he was commissioned to take charge of Gaudí’s works, which he did after completely change a project that was devoted exclusively from 1914 until his death.
Since 2005 the temple as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and was dedicated and declared a Minor Basilica on November 7, 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI.
